Our Mission

Our mission is to vindicate and free from prison those individuals in the United States and Canada who are factually innocent of the crimes for which they have been unjustly convicted and imprisoned for life or death.

Selection Process

Inmates must write to petition us for consideration of their case. Upon accepting a case for review, the case is assigned to a volunteer case worker who corresponds extensively with the inmate and studies the entire written record of the prospective case (trial transcripts, discovery material, etc.). This process can take several years since obtaining case materials can be difficult. The process culminates in an in-depth interview with the inmate. A case is eligible for acceptance only when we are convinced of the convicted person’s complete factual innocence and integrity, and our caseload capacity permits us to take on a new case. CM supplies all possible resources for the reinvestigation of a case. Unfortunately, we are only able to work for a handful of those who legitimately ask us to aid them in their quest for justice.
